Birth Day! Part II

Whoa, bright lights! I heard the doctors working on mommy and the next thing I know, this huge light is shining on me...at first I said "Jesus, is that you?", but I didn't hear him reply, I just felt some hands grab me and pull me out from mommy. I started crying right away, I wasn't too happy that they were taking me away from my mommy! But then, I heard Daddy! And Keri and Courtney, Uncle Tommy, Oma and Poppy! I heard them all! I can't see them yet...but I can hear them. But someone is missing, where's Mommy?? I can't hear Mommy!

Right away they ran some tests on me. Apparently I scored an 8 on the Apgar test. I hear that 8 is excellent for any baby, it's even great for a baby that stayed in their mommy for 9 months! I only stayed in for 6.5 months and I scored that! I don't know why they're so surprised, I am half Jones you know!

Being on the outside can get pretty rough! The doctors shoved some kind of ventilator in my mouth...what is this I was wondering. I had those shots, don't they know I don't need this, I can breathe on my own! Ok, wait...this is better, they just took the ventilator out of my mouth. Oh man...what's this now, they're putting a C-PAP on me. Well at least they're not giving me any extra oxygen...they realized that room air is just enough for me!

It's starting to be relaxing on the outside, aside from the occasional pokes, they sometimes hurt. Right now I'm just chilling out underneath some blue lights. I hear it's called a "Bilirubin" light...it's kind of cool, the only annoying thing is that there's this patch over my eyes. I can't see clearly yet anyway so it's not so bad.

Hi Jamison, I'm your Poppy. I know you don't know what a Poppy is yet, but you will. I hope real soon. I saw you when they took you out of the delivery room into the IC room. I don't think you knew what was going on. I was so so happy to meet you. I'm hoping we become really good friends.

With all my love forever,

Poppy
