Mommy's turn!

I'm doing pretty good today. I'm just basically just hanging out trying to relax. Let me tell you though, it's kind of hard to relax when I have all of those things coming out of me! The worst is the IV that's still in my arm. They're going to keep that on for awhile. I may even have it in for a long while if hey need to take my tubes out of my belly button. I'll need the IV to get my nutrients. Oh, and this C-PAP nonsense...that's gotta go soon! I keep on trying to take it off, but I guess I'm just not strong enough yet. They better watch out, because once I can start eating, I'll get stronger and I'll be able to take it off...

Tomorrow morning I'm going to get another X-Ray of my tummy. The one this morning had no change to it so that's a good thing. I did notice that my belly is a little blue. The nurse told Mommy and Daddy that this was a sign of poor motility. That just means that things aren't moving through my belly as well as they should. They should also get my blood cultures back tonight...this will tell Mommy and Daddy if I have an infection or not. I hope that that's all that it is!

The best part of today was when Mommy changed my diaper! She did a much better job than Daddy (sorry Dad, you did a good job too...I just think mommies are just naturally better at it). The nurse asked Mommy if she wanted to hold me today too, but she said no. She said she didn't want to hurt me or make me any sicker...I understand, but I sure can't wait until she can hold me for real! I guess I'll just have to get better quicker for her!

Morning Jamison! So glad to hear that you are feeling a little better. Hopefully, you'll feel even better today. I agree, Mommies are just natural diaper changers...I wonder why that is! See you soon.

Jamison,You don't know me yet, but I met your Mommy at work and she really is a special person so rest when you need to, eat alot when you can and keep on growing for her. I know her and your Daddy really love, care and worry about you, so do what you can for them now to keep them happy. Remember that there are many people keeping you and your family in their prayers, including me. I hope to meet you sometime soon when you get much bigger and stronger. Keep growing strong.....

Hi Jamison, this is your cousin Gianna. My mommy showed me your pictures today and I said "hey, Jamison has that white thing on her arm like I did!" I remember having an IV too, after I was born. They thought that I had an infection too, but I didn't. I hated that IV and always tried to get it off of my arm. I had to take antibiotics and they took blood cultures too, those are not fun either. I am 4 months old now and I just had a check up. I don't like check ups because they give you something called shots and I got 5! They are a piece of cake though compared to that IV and all of the blood cultures that we have went through so don't worry about them. At my check up, I heard the doctor say how healthy I am and how good I am doing. So don't worry Jamison, I know you will be fine, just like me! I can't wait to meet you!

Love,
Your Cousin Gianna
